MANILA, Philippines — The Philippine Ship Agents Association (PSAA) vowed to further strengthen and expand its membership to include the regions of Mindanao, Visayas and Northern Luzon.
During the recent induction of officers and board of directors at the Bayleaf Hotel in Intramuros, Virginia Madlang-Awa, president of Dona Maritima Corp., re-elected president of PSAA, outlined her priorities for 2012.
Madlang-Awa stressed that the PSAA would continue to find ways to share its professional and business expertise through mentoring and training programs.
“We will continue to significantly contribute to the development of the Philippine maritime industry, hastening the country’s economic growth and development.”
The PSAA would sustain its support and projects that will make a difference and raise the quality of life in the community, she said.
“We would continue to act with consistency with credibility and work to develop an organization so dynamic, action-oriented and be integral part of the community and industry that qualified men and women would eager to join,” she added.
She also thanked the past board of directors and officers, the various agencies such as the Maritime Industry Authority (MARINA), the Philippine Ports Authority (PPA) and Bureau of Customs (BOC) for their support to the PSAA.
